How The Dedicated Team Model Works
You pay for engineering capacity by the month. The same people stay on your product, sit in your standups and push to your repositories. There's no fixed scope and no fixed price. That's on purpose, because the backlog can then change every sprint without anyone reopening a contract.
What keeps a dedicated development team model healthy is a clean split of duties. The client runs the product and the vendor runs the people. When that line blurs, a developer ends up with two managers and two sets of priorities, and the engagement stalls long before any technical problem shows up.

A website development team built on React and Next.js looks different from a mobile app development team on React Native. A dedicated app development team almost always needs a backend engineer who owns the API, too. Before kickoff we agree who acts as tech lead: one of our seniors, or a person from your side.
Software development team structure depends mostly on how much technical leadership you bring. If your CTO reviews every pull request, a flat team of mid-level developers works fine. If nobody on your side writes code, pay for a senior lead from day one.

Some rough math. A backend developer and a mobile developer working full time come to about $7,000 a month at 168 working hours. Seniority and engagement length will move that number, so use it for budgeting and wait for a proper quote before signing anything.

When We Would Not Recommend Dedicated Teams
We redirect a fair share of requests. The usual reasons:
- Nobody on your side owns the backlog. A dedicated team needs someone who decides what matters this week. Without that person you pay for idle hours or for guesses.
- The job is small and well defined. One client, a food-production business, arrived with workflows and a database schema already written. We estimated three weeks and $5,000. It closed in one week at $3,000. A monthly team would have been the wrong vehicle.
- You want a finished product without being involved. Then you need a managed project with our PM running the plan.
- The budget covers a month or two. Onboarding eats part of the first sprint. In our view the model needs at least three months to pay off.
Saying this out loud loses us some deals, and we're fine with that.

How Our Team Keeps The Hours Honest
Hours are easy to bill and hard to check, and that's where dedicated software development teams tend to lose client trust. So we built our own tracker. It works like Jira, with one difference that matters to anyone paying a monthly invoice: your budget and scope sit inside it, next to the tickets. You see hours spent against the agreed budget without asking us for a report.
If your side has no delivery rhythm yet, we bring ours. The team posts a written status in Slack every day, or in whatever channel you use, and standups run daily or every other day. Sprints last one or two weeks and end with a demo plus a short document on what shipped.
The contract says the code and IP are yours. Either side can scale down or end the engagement with two weeks' notice. Nobody is locked in, including us.

For East Coast teams we guarantee at least four shared hours, usually 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern, and engineers shift their day to cover it. West Coast overlap is shorter, so we agree it case by case.
Yes. Two weeks' notice applies whether you remove one person or end the whole engagement. Adding people usually runs on the same 3–7 day cycle as the first hire.
